Yves Cuenot

Yves CUENOT began his music studies at the Besançon National Conservatoire (the piano) and became Jeanne MARGUILLARD's student in the Organ. In this same town he obtained his first post as assistant organist at "la Madeleine" church. Attracted to the Baroque style of music amongst others, Yves CUENOT perfected his organ playing with André ISOIR in Paris.

Considerimg the Harpsichord as a vital instrument in the understanding of music, he worked in Paris with Jean-Patrice BROSSE and at the International Academy of Saint Bertrand-de-Comminges. He then took an interpreting course with Scott ROSS at the Ancient Music Academy at Semur-en-Auxois.

Yves CUENOT is at present a music teacher and accompanist at the National Conservatoire of the Dijon area, Director of the music school in the Auxonne Canton, One of the 2 head organists at the Dijon Cathedral Great Organ, Head organist at Auxonne church. Yves Cuenot is requested to give Organ and Harpsichord master-classes and lectures in France,Germany, Russia, Estonia, Canada. In addition to his love for baroque music, Yves CUENOT has as part of his musical repertoire, compositions of the present day, among others Jean GUILLOU. He was the first interpreter of his "Suite pour Rameau" and performed with him the "Missa interrupta" for the inauguration of the Great Organ in the Cathedral of Dijon. Moreover, he writes for several instruments and for voice. Some of his compositions are edited.
